Walter Philips, MSW, LCSW has been at the helm of San Diego Youth Services as its Executive Director/CEO since July of 2000. The agency is a major provider of comprehensive services for homeless, abused and at-risk youth, their families, and communities.  SDYS serves over 9,000 youth and their families per year through its 16 different locations in San Diego.

Walter has worked in San Diego as a social worker for 25 years, including over 20 years in administrative leadership positions in community based non-profit and managed care agencies.  In addition to his administrative and managed care expertise, Walter has had extensive experience with youth programs, including residential, prevention, mental health, drug and alcohol treatment and domestic violence.
