Barry Getzel

Director of Project Development

Barry Getzel has over twenty eight years of experience in real estate acquisitions, development and finance, including nineteen years in community development and affordable housing.  He is currently the Director of Project Development for Wakeland. In that capacity, he is responsible for project feasibility analyses, and planning, processing, financing and development of affordable housing projects. Mr. Getzel’s prior jobs include: the Director of a major downtown redevelopment project for the City of Seattle, Washington; the Director of Acquisitions for Home Capital, once a major investor in market rate housing development throughout the United States; a planning and low income housing tax credit consultant; and Southwest Manager of Community Development Lending for Bank of America.
