Shannon Roark

Resident Services Manager

Shannon Roark first joined Wakeland in 2006 as a Resident Services Site Coordinator. Her previous nine years of experience working with youth, adolescents and their families in varied capacities - ranging from camps and schools to youth groups - served well in the development and implementation of programs and policies for Wakeland’s Resident Services. With a strong understanding of the value of Affordable Housing and services for its residents, Ms. Roark took on the role of Communications Manager, writing grant applications, overseeing event planning and developing marketing materials. Her passion for working with residents prompted her return to Resident Services, where she presently oversees the programs and staff at 13 different community centers in Wakeland properties throughout San Diego County.

Ms. Roark earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Certificate in Ministry from Whitworth University and then completed internship training with the Fresno Institute for Urban Leadership. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design at Design Institute of San Diego and is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers, serving on the Board of Directors of the DI Student Chapter. Additionally, Ms. Roark serves on the Advisory Council for the Resident Services Support Network.
