Loren Adams

Loren Adams has been involved in multi-family, commercial and mixed-use development since 1996.  Currently vice president of development/operations for Intracorp San Diego, he oversees all project managers' projects, from permitting through construction completion as well as sell-out and/or lease up.  He also oversees the firm's marketing and sales divisions. Prior to Intracorp, Mr. Adams served as a project manager for Kauri Investments, Ltd. in Seattle.  He has a master's degree in urban design and planning as well as a law degree from the University of Washington.

 


Douglas C. Perkins

Mr. Perkins has more than 25 years experience in education and public affairs. As the owner of Pacific Gateway Group, a public affairs and marketing firm, he works with corporate and nonprofit clients consulting in program development, government relations, marketing plans, community education and community networking.  Prior to Pacific Gateway Group, Mr. Perkins was the director of the San Diego County Organization of Private Education (SCOPE), responsible for the administration of federal, state and local programs of more than $4 million for 20 schools throughout San Diego County. Mr. Perkins provided the oversight of training programs for more than 1,500 students as well as staff and fiscal management and served on various government and industry advisory committees.   



Lee Winslett

Investment Manager, Commercial Real Estate Group

Lee Winslett has more than 15 years experience in real estate lending and commercial banking.  For the past 8 years at Wells Fargo, he has worked as an investment manager overseeing a corporate fund investing in various asset classes including low-income housing tax credits, new market tax credits, real estate private equity and non-real estate private equity in support of affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization, economic development and job creation.  Prior to that he served as senior lender responsible for the underwriting of construction and permanent financing of commercial redevelopment and low-income residential projects using various funding sources including federal low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, tax-exempt bonds and tax-increment financing.  

  


 

Karolina Ericsson

Karolina Ericsson, as associate with the law firm of Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps, specializes in affordable housing.  She works closely with non-profit organizations to package tax credits and other financing to develop affordable housing.  She also represents developers in leasing, purchase and sale transactions.  Prior to joining Luce Forward, Ms. Ericsson was the housing and community development director for Price Charities and oversaw the development of Village Townhomes, an affordable housing project in the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego.  She received her law degree from Stanford Law School.



Jack D. Farris
Deputy Director, Real Estate Assets
City of San Diego

Mr. Farris has over 20 years of experience in positions related to economics and government debt financing.  He currently leads the Asset Management and Marketing Division for the City of San Diego 's Real Estate Assets Department.  The division is responsible for the management and administration of over 700 leases and other property-use agreements for land, facilities and other assets.  Prior to this position, he was manager of the San Diego Housing Commission's Housing Finance and Development Department where he had served as both a developer and lender, successfully closing in excess of $320 million in bonds resulting in the creation or preservation of 2,500 affordable units.  Mr. Farris' public sector career began as an economist for the City of San Diego.  As the City's chief economist, he was responsible for creating financial models for the City's debt financing of capital improvements as well as land-based financings such as assessment districts and the City's first Mello-Roos District used to fund infrastructure for developments.  He holds a master's degree in economics from San Diego State University.



Craig Fukuyama

Craig Fukuyama has more than 30 years of experience working in the real estate industry. Mr. Fukuyama is currently a Senior Project Manager for Centex Homes. Previously he owned his own real estate consulting company – The Fukuyama Company. He held the position of Director of Planning and Inspection for the City of Sanger, California. Later he moved to the private sector, working with The Corky McMillin Companies as a Vice President of Land Development, where he managed the development of McMillin's master-planned communities of Rancho del Rey and McMillin Lomas Verdes. Mr. Fukuyama is a graduate of California State University, Fresno. Mr. Fukuyama is and has been a member of numerous local and regional boards, including the Building Industry Association of San Diego, HomeAid San Diego and the Union of Pan Asian Communities.



Richard Juarez

Richard Juarez has been involved in inner-city community development for over 30 years.  Currently a partner in Urban-West Development Consultants, he assists community organizations, public agencies and private development with bringing affordable housing to market.  Mr. Juarez is involved in several mixed-use developments in the City Heights area of San Diego, including an 80,000-square-foot job-training offices and retail complex with 120 affordable apartments.  He served for nine years as vice president for housing and economic development for MAAC Project, a multi-service, community-based non-profit organization.  Mr. Juarez serves on the board of the California Community Economic Development Association and was a founding member of the San Diego Nonprofit Federation for Housing and Community Development.  He has taught university courses in community economic development and inner-city commercial revitalization.  A native San Diegan, Mr. Juarez has a master's degree in city and regional planning.


 

Art Rivera

Art Rivera has nearly 20 years of diverse project finance experience.  Currently vice president of corporate affairs for Washington Mutual, he oversees the bank's community reinvestment commitment to San Diego which includes affordable housing.  Prior to Washington Mutual, Mr. Rivera spent 12 years at Fannie Mae, managing several programs focused on affordable housing.   His experience includes community development projects ranging from major multi-family and urban mixed-use to affordable single-family in community target areas and on Indian reservations.
