Project Description:

Village Green is a 94 unit apartment complex built in 1964. This is an acquisition/rehabilitation project that will undergo extensive rehabilitation. One apartment will be converted to a manager's office with a business center. The Community Center on-site will be solar powered. After rehabilitation, rents will be reduced and will be affordable to families earning 60% or below the area median income.

Background & Status:

Wakeland purchased the property in May of 2009. Rehab will began in Fall 2009 and is expected to take approximately 18 months.

Financing Sources:

Financing for this project is a combination of tax exempt bonds and Federal Tax Credits as well as funding from the San Diego Housing Commission and the City of San Diego Redevelopment Association.
