FUNDING INTRODUCTION

Wakeland receives funding from a variety of sources to develop projects and promote organizational growth. Our project funding is multi-layered.  Our organizational funding comes from a variety of foundations and public entities. Wakeland's diverse funding pool is evidence of our commitment to quality affordable housing and enhanced resident services. 

Wakeland's staff and board of directors have years of experience in developing projects involving layered financing structures.  These are complex arrangements with ever-changing requirements that demand expertise in combining different types of financing so that they work in concert with one another.  Because the income from an affordable housing project cannot come close to covering the cost of its development, an organization must be creative to bring a project to fruition.
