Project
Description:
There are 90 units (2 one-bedrooms,
11 two-bedrooms, 66 three-bedrooms, 11 four-bedrooms).
All of the units will be rented to families earning
60% or less area median income.
Background and Status:
This is an acquisition/rehabilitation
project. The rehab will encompass substantial landscaping
improvements, major upgrades within the units and development
of a new community center. Construction will begin in
fall 2006; completion is expected in late 2007. The
project is owned by Del Sol Apartments, L.P., in which
Wakeland is the sole general partner.
Property Management:
John Stewart Company
Financing Sources:
Tax-exempt bonds, tax credits, Multi-family
Housing Program and a loan through the San Diego Housing
Commission. The acquisition was financed by Washington
Mutual and Low Income Investment Fund.
Resident Services:
Services will
include a computer lab, adult education programs and
after-school programs for youth.
