Wakeland's staff and board of directors have years of experience in developing projects involving layered financing structures. These are complex arrangements with ever-changing requirements that demand expertise in combining different types of financing so that they work in concert with one another. Because the income from an affordable housing project cannot come close to covering the cost of its development, an organization must be creative to bring a project to fruition.
