Business Center

Each of the Community Centers at our properties feature a Business Center. It is within the Business Centers that residents have access to computers with internet, and the array of classes and educational materials we offer for Job Readiness, life skills, and financial literacy. Therefore, residents are supported when applying for a job, a loan, admittance to a secondary educational institution, or whatever their need may be.

Open Computer Lab
During our Open Computer Labs, Wakeland residents have access to computers and the Internet. They may also access any of our self-paced programs in Job Readiness and Financial literacy.

Computer Education Class
Wakeland's Business Centers provide residents with more than access to technology; we also provide the tools needed to use the technology by providing computer Education classes. Classes span topics from the basics to more specialized usage. For example, components of a computer, basic Word and Excel, using the internet and setting up an e-mail address are all included in our curriculum.

Job Readiness
Information is provided for residents concerning Job Readiness through our Self-Paced Program, Workshops, and Job Boards. Topics covered include Resume writing, Interviewing skills, and lessons in interpersonal communication.

Financial Literacy
Materials are always available in the Business Center for residents on topics such as Buying a Car or a Home, Managing Debt, Credit Cards, Savings, and Budgeting.
