By incorporating green building practices and materials into our projects, we are conscious of our environmental impact while also providing economic and health benefits to our residents. The properties featured here were built with sustainability in mind. Our experience has moved us to carefully evaluate our design and construction procedures to incorporate green practices into the future.

Oceanside, California
Country Club underwent rehab work while Los Vecinos was developed, and therefore benefited from the knowledge of green technologies and products Wakeland gained from the development of Los Vecinos. Green Features include:
• Energy Star rated appliances including, refrigerator, dishwasher, ceiling fans, and thermostats.
• Low VOC paints and adhesives
• Bathrooms used paperless drywall and humidistat exhaust
• Dual pane low-e windows
• 100% florescent lighting
• Dual flush toilets, low flow faucets and shower heads
• Synthetic turf in the courtyard
• Playground equipment made of recycled content

Los Vecinos is LEED Platinum Certified with the LEED for Homes program through the US Green Building Council. Los Vecinos also received the highest score in the history of the LEED for Homes program. Among it’s many green features, it is most notably 100% solar powered.

Parkside is LEED Platinum certified with the LEED for Homes program through the US Green Building Council. Parkside uses a photovoltaic solar panel system to supply energy to all common areas and water sub metering as a water conservation technique.
