Coming Soon - The Beacon Apartments
Architect's rendering of The Beacon / M.W. Steele Group
The Beacon Apartments will provide 44 permanent supportive homes in downtown San Diego's East Village for people who have been homeless. These affordable homes are coupled with robust support services that help residents live more stable, independent lives.
The preliminary design is a modern, five-story building with 44 homes, onsite parking for staff and a spacious community room. The property will have lightwells that deliver natural illumination and ventilation to residents and neighbors to the east side of the building, as well as a generous setback that allows for a tree-landscaped courtyard.
The Beacon Apartments will help alleviate the City of San Diego's growing need for permanent supportive housing for the homeless. It will also help to spur revitalization by replacing a transitional living facility that previously operated on the site with a beautiful, permanent new community of affordable homes designed by an award-winning local architect.
