Dani McMillin

Senior Project Manager
In more than half a decade of work in the affordable housing sector, Dani (Halton) McMillin has assisted in the development of more than 4,000 affordable housing opportunities throughout Southern California and New Mexico.

As Project Manager at Wakeland, she oversees the development of affordable and permanent supportive housing communities from the earliest stages of pre-development through completion.

Ms. McMillin’s experience includes multiple roles at the San Diego Housing Commission, where she worked to allocate local and federal dollars to more than 800 units of affordable housing and played an integral role in designing Housing First - San Diego, a $79.7 million-dollar action plan to create permanent housing solutions for people experiencing homelessness in San Diego.

Prior to joining the Wakeland team, Ms. McMillin worked as a Development Associate at Chelsea Investment Corporation, where she was responsible for managing the design and financing of affordable housing communities. During her time with Chelsea, she worked on the financing and programming for two of the largest mixed-income permanent supportive housing developments in the City of San Diego.

Ms. McMillin holds a B.S in Social Studies from Elmira College and a master’s degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University. Her professional development includes the Novogradac LIHTC training and CDBG Certification from the National Community Development Association.

Ms. McMillin gives back to the community by serving on the Board of Directors for Wesley House Student Residence, a non-profit that develops and manages affordable student housing. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and dogs.
