Kay DiFrancesca

Board Member
Retired Forensic and Clinical Psychologist
Kay DiFrancesca worked as a forensic and clinical psychologist for 42 years, first at San Diego County Mental Health in the Forensic Department and then beginning in 1986 in private practice doing psychological assessments in criminal and civil personal injury cases.

As a Board Member, she brings to Wakeland an understanding of some of the services dictated by the emotional and psychological needs of people who are struggling with little or no income as well as the needs of the mentally ill.
 
Throughout her professional life, Ms. DiFrancesca served on the boards of the San Diego Psychology Law Society, San Diego Psychological Association, California Psychological Association, American Psychological Association – including as the chair of the Ethics Committees of both the American Psychological Association and San Diego Psychological Association. She also served on a mental health board for the Juvenile Court.
 
Ms. DiFrancesca has given back to the community as a volunteer for several agencies who serve the underserved population, serving on the San Diego Mental Health Board for six years and on the Episcopal Community Services Board for six years. She has also volunteered at Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) for over five years, supervising the psychology doctoral students in their assessment work. 
 
Currently, Ms. DiFrancesca sits on the San Diego Downtown Community Planning Committee and the Cortez Hill Residence Group.
