Larry Clemens

Board Member
Broker, Willis Allen Real Estate/Past President of Barratt American, Urban Division

Larry Clemens is a life-long San Diegan and holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University. He is a past president of the San Diego Building Industry Association, and has served on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Partnership, and Urban Council of the Urban Land Institute. Most recently, Mr. Clemens served as the Senior Vice President of the San Diego Housing Commission and was responsible for all housing, development and finance, and the future growth of the Commission’s real estate portfolio. In his 35+ years in the building industry, he has served as President of the Urban Divisions of both Lennar and Barratt-American. Additionally, Mr. Clemens was responsible for the premier Carlsbad resort master-planned community of Aviara, Bressi Ranch, The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe, and Kelly Ranch. As the former President of Lennar, San Diego Urban Division, Mr. Clemens helped lead the effort in entitling the largest residential redevelopment project in San Diego’s history – Ball Park Village. Mr. Clemens also served his community by leading the San Diego Housing Commission’s Real Estate Department. Under his watch, he spear-headed the refinance of SDHC’s affordable housing portfolio to allow for the addition of over 700 multi-family units to the Commission’s housing stock.
