Resident Services Site Coordinator - San Diego/Downtown
Position Overview
Wakeland is looking for a Resident Services Site Coordinator to provide organized social, recreational and enrichment activities at one of our affordable housing communities in downtown San Diego - Atmosphere. Under the direction of the Resident Services Manager, this position coordinates and implements organized social, recreational and enrichment activities, programs and workshops for school-aged youth as well as adult residents; assists residents with connecting to appropriate community resources; identifies service needs of the residents and provides solutions to those needs; and facilitates life skills workshops that aide in the well-being and self-sustainability of residents, such as financial literacy, reading literacy, mental health, wellness recovery, etc.

Required Skills and Abilities
Sound command of the English language and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to speak professionally and effectively with guests and associates throughout the organization in both public and private forums. Must be able to successfully conduct and accomplish multiple tasks and possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Must also be able to work well with others.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinator and implement after school program (assisting with homework, enrichment activities, recreational activities, arts and crafts, etc.)
- Plan, coordinate and implement programs for adult residents
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and Internet search engines
- Able to assist residents with creating cover letters/resumes and completing job applications
- Able to assist residents with finding supportive services
- Able to host programs at multiple properties
- Complete monthly administrative duties: create calendars, complete monthly recap reports, attendance reports, submit supply requests, update bulletin boards
- Develop and maintain community partnerships
- Organize and clean services center (sometimes lifting items that may weigh up to 40 lbs.)
- Responsible for outreaching to residents on a continuous basis, informing them of activities and programs to increase and maintain participation
- Update and maintain the files and reports for the program, ensuring that all calendars, reports, and photos are uploaded in a timely manner
- Work with Resident Services supervisor to develop and implement programs, workshops and events
- Responsible for maintaining the resident services files for the center
- Responsible for maintaining a positive and professional relationship with the property management team, keeping them informed of activities and events by ensuring they have a copy of the monthly calendar
- Experience working with more diverse and challenging populations (i.e.: seniors, residents with a severe mental illness, residents who have experienced homelessness)
- Able to assist residents with financial wellness (i.e.: completing simple tax forms, understanding credit reports and how to improve FICO scores, creating a budget
- Able to identify service needs of the residents and initiate, develop and implement unique programs that will help fulfill the need; familiar with ADLs (activities of daily living)
- Able to conduct specialized workshops (i.e.: ESL, Financial Wellness)
- Holds certifications in CPR and Mental Health First Aid
- Holds specialized certifications (i.e.: ESL certification, VITA Tax certification, Financial Wellness certification, Fitness Coach)
- Perform other duties as required and assigned
