Shonda Herold
Project Manager
Shonda Herold joined the development team at Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation in 2017. She is currently serving as project manager on two developments, representing $82 million of investment in affordable housing and over 137 new units. Ms. Herold’s responsibilities cover all stages of the development process from predevelopment through final equity, including:
Ms. Herold is a graduate of National Development Council’s Housing Development Finance Training and LISC’s Housing Development Training Institute (HDTI).
Prior to joining Wakeland, Ms. Herold worked for 15 years in municipal government in the areas of Historic Preservation, Urban Planning, Affordable Housing Development and Redevelopment/Economic Development. During her tenure, she cultivated multi-disciplinary partnerships that lead to the creation of more than 200, quality, affordable housing options in the City of Riverside.
She earned a Bachelor of Historic Preservation from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia.

- Analyzing potential projects for feasibility
- Acquiring financing and budget development/oversight
- Securing land use entitlements
- Management of the design and engineering process
- Day-to-day management of project development
