A Bit About Elaine
As Vice President of Communications, Elaine Camuso brings strong strategic planning experience and a deep understanding of public affairs, media and community outreach to Wakeland from more than two decades of work in the communications field.
Previously, she developed and implemented strategic communications and public affairs outreach for a wide variety of clients in the retail development, energy, transportation and nonprofit sectors at one of San Diego's top public affairs agencies.
Before entering the public relations field, Ms. Camuso worked as a writer, news reporter and editor at a leading wire service, logging more than 5,000 stories and conducting interviews with celebrities, CEOs, artists and experts across the spectrum of business, lifestyle and arts & entertainment news. Her stories received prime coverage on top nighttime talk shows like The Daily Show and The Tonight Show, in newspapers like The Los Angeles Times and The New York Post, and on hundreds of radio stations in the U.S. and internationally.
A graduate of the University of California, San Diego's nationally-recognized Communications program, Ms. Camuso continues her professional development through her involvement with the San Diego Housing Federation.
