Gamaliel Vazquez is Vice President of Asset Management at Wakeland, bringing over a decade of experience in affordable housing with a focus on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, risk management, and long-term asset performance. He oversees Wakeland’s operating portfolio of 6,500+ affordable homes and his leadership plays a key role in ensuring Wakeland’s communities remain sustainable, well managed, and impactful.
Known for his collaborative and solutions-driven approach, Mr. Vazquez values teamwork, accountability and results. He holds a B.A. in Mass Media Communication from California State University, San Marcos, and is fluent in both English and Spanish – skills which he brings to his role as Wakeland’s Spanish-language spokesperson.
Mr. Vazquez's knowledge of affordable housing asset management and strong communication skills make him a sought-after speaker for industry conferences and trainings. His professional certifications include housing tax credit Site Compliance Specialist.
When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him enjoying a glass of red wine, watching soccer with the family, volunteering his time at orphanages in Tijuana, Mexico, and rooting for his beloved 49ers.
