Assistant Project Manager
Ben Blankenhorn joined Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation in 2023 as an Assistant Project Manager, supporting senior staff in a range of responsibilities from budget management and design coordination to construction oversight and stakeholder engagement. His role encompasses all facets of the development project lifecycle, from identifying and acquiring new development opportunities to transitioning completed projects into operations.
Mr. Blankenhorn developed a strong passion for affordable housing through a real estate mentorship program he completed at the University of San Diego and is committed to helping create accessible, sustainable, and high-quality affordable housing for the populations that need it the most.
Before coming to Wakeland, he worked as a Real Estate Investment and Development Intern at CT Realty, where he gained hands-on experience in various aspects of industrial property development. His tasks included financial analysis, helping manage the company's self-storage unit funds and market research.
Mr. Blankenhorn graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Business Administration. In his free time, you can catch him playing pickleball or volleyball at the beach, reading books in the sun, or catching up on the world's current geopolitical events.
