Jonathan Hunter

Senior Principal, LeSar Development Consultants
Jonathan Hunter is a creative leader in collaborative design of innovative solutions to address the needs of our most vulnerable citizens, including developing and funding supportive housing for people who are chronically homeless and have disabilities related to mental illness, substance use, HIV/AIDS and other chronic health conditions. In Los Angeles, this work resulted in the creation of more than 3,000 new units of supportive housing.

In his current position with LeSar Development Consultants, he oversees the firm’s systems change and innovation work pertaining to the delivery of housing and services to vulnerable populations. His clients include government agencies, for-profit and nonprofit developers and foundations. Currently, he is leading the firm’s work in tracking how the Medicaid 1115 waiver will be implemented and could provide additional financing to enhance the delivery of supportive services; oversees the team providing systems change services to continuums of care; and is part of an internal team working with clients to create a pipeline of pay for success transactions in California.

Previously, he was with Corporation for Supportive Housing, where he worked as Western Region Managing Director.
In 2005, Mr. Hunter convened and facilitated the ad-hoc planning group that led to the creation of the Mental Health Services Act Housing Program systems change related to serving homeless and at-risk of homelessness vulnerable populations. He is well practiced in building capacities of community based organizations to thrive in a pay for success environment along with nonprofit board development.
