Description:
Levant Senior Cottages is a new affordable housing community with 127 homes and onsite services tailored to the needs of low-income seniors 55 and older, earning between 25% and 50% of the Area Median Income. Located in San Diego’s Linda Vista neighborhood, it is the first property to open doors on land offered by the County of San Diego through an initiative to use excess County sites for the development of affordable housing.

Background & Design:
Levant was built by Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation in partnership with San Diego Kind. Its design includes 18 single-story “bungalow” type buildings arranged around 2 elevator-serviced two-story buildings connected by a walkway and one large community building that will host onsite services and social activities for residents.

• County of San Diego (provided land at a $1 per year ground lease for 70 years)
• San Diego Housing Commission (provided 70 Project Based Vouchers for resident rent subsidies)

Resident Services:

• Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation will provide a range of resident services and social activities for all residents through our award-winning Resident Services program.
• St. Paul’s PACE will provide wraparound medical and social services for residents who qualify for the PACE program.
