Director of Development
Lisa Huff has more than 14 years of experience in the field of affordable housing development. She joined Wakeland in 2021 as a Director of Development, overseeing project management staff and managing select projects through all phases of development.
To date, Ms. Huff’s work includes new construction or renovation of over 1,350 affordable homes throughout California. She has broad experience in all aspects of affordable housing development from site due diligence, entitlements, design and financing, through construction. Her experience in affordable housing finance includes Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, tax exempt bonds, CA Multifamily Housing Program (MHP), CalHFA Mixed Income Program, HUD 221(d)(4), Freddie TEL, CA Mental Health Services Act, CA Infill Infrastructure Grant Program, CA Transit-Oriented Development, local city and county gap financing, Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco AHP, HUD Project-Based HAP Renewals (Mark-Up-To-Market and Mark-Up-To-Budget) and Project-Based VASH Vouchers.
Ms. Huff serves as co-chair of the San Diego County Behavioral Health Housing Council. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, and is a graduate of LISC’s Housing Development Training Institute and Advanced Tax Credit and Bond Financing training.
