Wakeland Wins at Ruby Awardsby Wakeland Staff
July 23, 2020 SAN DIEGO - Wakeland is honored that our newest community, The Beacon, has been awarded the San Diego Housing Federation's top award for supportive housing as part of the 2020 Ruby Awards. The ceremony, which was held online July 23, honored the best of the best in San Diego County's affordable housing sector. The Beacon, which provides homes and services for 43 adults and transition-age youth who have experienced homelessness, received the CSH Supportive Housing Award. We'd also like to congratulate Jason Pannell, a resident at our Atmosphere development in downtown San Diego, who won the Outstanding Resident Leader award for his many hours of volunteer work securing and delivering groceries to his home-bound neighbors during the COVID-19 quarantine. Congratulations also go out to our many friends, partners and fellow affordable housing advocates who won in the other Ruby Awards categories. Thank you for your work toward making San Diego County a place where everyone has a fair chance for a safe, affordable home.
