San Diego Future's Foundation Partnership
August 15, 2011
All Wakeland properties offer computer and internet access to our residents through on-site business centers. With resident services programming, residents can also pick up the tools needed to excel with the technology in our computer education classes. Wakeland is excited to have partnered with the San Diego Futures Foundation (SDFF) to bring the best classes to our residents.
Through partnership with the SDFF, Wakeland Residents have received benefit of the San Diego Broadband Initiative (SDBI) program beyond enriched computer classes. As part of the Initiative, low-income residents who do not already have a computer in their homes, can obtain internet, and pass an assessment test, are given computers free of charge.
Interested residents living in Wakeland communities of San Diego County have been matched with free computers for their homes. Incredibly, over 100 computers have already been distributed. Residents continue to learn more and more through on-site computer classes.
