Wakeland Celebrates Grand Opening of Beyer Courtyards

San Diego gained 60 more affordable rental homes with the grand opening of Wakeland’s Beyer Courtyards apartments April 6 in San Ysidro.
Community leaders including San Diego City Councilman Ben Hueso attended the grand opening event for the project.
Located at 3412 Beyer Boulevard, Beyer Courtyards is comprised of five separate resident buildings, featuring 30 two-bedroom apartments and 30 three-bedroom units. All of the units are rented to families earning 60% or less area median income.
The complex includes a tot-lot play area, basketball court and community room featuring a computer lab. After-school programs for children as well as English-as-Second-Language (ESL) classes for adults will be offered.
Beyer Courtyards is a project of Beyer Courtyards L.P. with Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation as General Partner and Red Capital Group as Limited Partner. Support was provided by: Local Initiative Support Corporation, Low Income Investment Fund, Wells Fargo Bank N.A., California Debt Limit Allocation Committee, California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, San Diego Housing Authority, San Diego Housing Commission and the City of San Diego.
