Wakeland Expands its Leadership Team
February 5, 2013
Wakeland is proud to announce the expansion of its leadership team with the addition of two new employees: Vice President and Director of Development Robert G. “Buddy” Bohrer and Communications Manager Elaine Camuso.
An Accomplished Development Professional
Buddy Bohrer has more than 20 years of real estate and development experience, with a particular emphasis on land acquisition, financial underwriting and entitlement for both residential and commercial development. As Wakeland’s new Vice President and Director of Development, he will oversee all phases of new projects, from negotiation and acquisition through project completion.
Bohrer began his relationship with Wakeland as a member of the Board of Directors and most recently served as the Board’s Chairman. Prior to coming to Wakeland, he held development roles at a number of leading real estate and construction companies, including Pardee Homes, Standard Pacific Homes and the H.G Fenton Company.
An Effective Public Communicator
Wakeland's new Communications Manager, Elaine Camuso, brings strong communications planning skills and a deep understanding of public relations from nearly two decades of experience in media and communications.
Previously, she developed and implemented strategic communications and public affairs outreach for a wide variety of clients in the retail development, energy, transportation and nonprofit sectors at one of San Diego's top public affairs agencies. Before entering the public relations field, Camuso worked as a news reporter and editor at a leading wire service, logging more than 5000 stories and conducting interviews with celebrities, CEOs, artists and experts across the spectrum of business, lifestyle and entertainment news.
“We are excited to round out our team with the skills and talents that Buddy and Elaine bring to the table," said Wakeland President and CEO Ken Sauder. “With these two new additions, Wakeland is uniquely positioned to capitalize on a number of promising new opportunities to create quality affordable housing in California."
