Wakeland recently joined our partners at Jonathan Rose Companies to celebrate the completion of 1999 – a new all-electric, affordable housing community in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Named after its address at 1999 W. Third St., the seven-story building provides 137 affordable homes to low income families, along with common areas for fitness, yoga and community gatherings, 10,000 square feet of open space, and bike parking. The new complex is connected by a breezeway to Miramar Towers, one of Wakeland’s existing developments with Jonathan Rose Companies.

“Wakeland’s mission is to transform lives and communities with affordable housing. 1999 does just that and represents a continuation of our long partnership with Jonathan Rose,” said Wakeland’s President and CEO Rebecca Louie. “Together, we are making Los Angeles’ neighborhoods more affordable with homes close to transit, parks and other amenities that enhance our residents’ lives.”
