Shaylyn Torres
Asset Manager
Shaylyn Torres is an Asset Manager at Wakeland, assisting operations at our San Diego-area properties and working collaboratively with the asset management team and property management, as well as coordinating communication and reporting to lenders, investors and other governing agencies. She has a strong affordable housing compliance background and more than a decade of experience in property management at multiple affordable housing communities in San Diego County.
Ms. Torres began her career working in residential property management, primarily as a community manager for ConAm Management. During most of her time at ConAm she worked at Wakeland’s Country Club and Vista Grande communities, roving and training new managers.
Ms. Torres holds a Social and Behavioral Science degree from Mira Costa College and is continuing her education at California State University, San Marcos. She regularly attends trainings to continue her professional development, including TCAC advanced compliance workshops, HUD training in EIV income reports and the Consortium for Housing and Asset Management (CHAM) Asset Management Specialist Certification program. Ms. Torres also gives back to the community as an active volunteer with SAY San Diego and the San Diego Police Department, where she volunteers as a Crisis Interventionist.
In her spare time, she is a fitness fanatic and enjoys spending time with her loved ones.
