She began working at CORE when it launched as a pilot program, and has been instrumental in the program’s success, helping more than 400 residents improve their personal finances and save money to achieve their economic goals.
In Cordero’s words, “I consider myself a passionate community server with the ability to motivate and inspire people to identify their potential.”
Before coming to Wakeland, she held positions at four different nonprofits in San Diego, including San Diego Home Loan Counseling and MAAC Project.
Cordero holds numerous certifications in financial education and credit counseling. She is a Certified Financial Education Instructor (National Financial Educators Council) and has a financial coaching certificate from Central New Mexico Community College. She was also trained as a Certified Credit & Home Loan Counselor by the Neighborhood Reinvestment Training Institute.
Outside of work, Cordero is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, running and spending time with her family.
