Talmadge Gateway is San Diego's first 100 percent permanent supportive housing community designed for seniors who have been homeless and have medical needs that require ongoing support. Developed in partnership with City Heights Community Development Corporation, the community offers 60 affordable homes with on and off-site supportive services that promote stability and greater independence, allowing residents to thrive.
Background & Status:
Talmadge Gateway opened in July 2017 in the historic central San Diego neighborhood of Talmadge. The property also includes a 1940's-era commercial building that has been renovated as part of the project, contributing to the revitalization of the surrounding neighborhood.
Construction loan and tax credit equity investment provided by Wells Fargo. Permanent loan from California Community Reinvestment Corporation. Additional funders include the San Diego Housing Commission and the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.
St. Paul’s Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) provides comprehensive supportive services to the residents. Father Joe’s Villages will provide additional resident services as needed. All residents can also access Wakeland's industry-leading resident services.
