COMING SOON - The WilcoxBackground:
The Wilcox will provide 62 supportive homes in Los Angeles' East Hollywood neighborhood for chronically-ill seniors who have experienced an episode of homelessness. These affordable homes are coupled with robust support services that help residents live more stable, independent lives. This model is known as "Housing First" and has been proven as an effective solution for homelessness, helping some U.S. communities reduce chronic homelessness by as much as 90 percent. Just as in traditional apartment complexes, residents sign long-term leases and must follow specific house rules that ensure quiet, safe enjoyment of the residential community. Community Benefits: The Wilcox will help alleviate the City of Los Angeles' growing need for supportive housing using a proven model for reducing homelessness. It will also help to revitalize the neighborhood by replacing a blighted vacant lot with a beautiful, new community of affordable homes operated by a nationally-recognized nonprofit that is dedicated to being a hands-on and responsive good neighbor. Resident Resources: While living at The Wilcox, seniors will benefit from a wide range of health and social services tailored to their needs and designed to help them thrive as they age. These include dedicated case management, physical and mental healthcare, peer-to-peer counseling and nutritional support. Timeline: The Wilcox is under construction and will open doors in mid-2023. Please check back here for updates at that time. More Questions?: Read the FAQ by clicking here Contact Us: Email thewilcox@wakelandhdc.com Learn More About Supportive Housing
